This Quick Seine attaches to the neck of your landing net with Velcro. The net is enclosed and attached in a small pouch. Once removed from the po
uch the white seine net stretches over the frame of your landing net secured with the elastic edges. By doing this, you have just converted your landing net into a seine to check size, color, and what forms of aquatic insects are present.
I attached the seine pouch to my landing net and went fishing on the San Juan River, outside Farmington, New Mexico. I have fished this river many times, but I have never used a seine net. The San Juan River is famous for their la
rge rainbows, and how picky they are. The size of flies that I use are 20,22 and 24’s. These size hooks are very small from 5/16 to ¼ inch.
The Quick Seine is extremely easy to use. You can remove it from its pouch and stretch it over your landing net in a matter of seconds. After rolling over a few rocks and placing the seine net in the downstream current for a few seconds, it reveled a tremendous amount on information in the way of what find of aquatic life was in the river. After doing this several times, I found o
ut that 90% of what was seined was very small red larva. This made me change my flies to match what was in the Quick Seine, and the fishing quickly improved. Some of the other things that I liked about the Quick Seine was the ease in cleaning the net, by turning it over and dragging it in the opposite direction. It was fast and easy to put it back into the pouch, as it was to take out. The elastic sides keep it stretched tightly over your net. The pouch is small and weighs nothing, plus keeping it attached to your landing net does not hinder the use of your net..
I would highly recommend the use of the Quick Seine. It can help increase the number of fish you catch in a day. After having used the Quick Seine, I will never leave home without it.
