It will maintain a charge on high for over six hours and a charge on low for over nine hours. The lantern also has a night light which can be used at any time even while charging. The light will also turn on automatically if the power goes out and the switch is set on high or low when charging.
An added bonus to this lantern is that unlike many other lanterns which get hot on the outside, this Coleman Lantern maintains a cool touch. As the mother of two, this was extremely important to me. The foldable rubber handle makes carrying the lantern easy and comfortable. My sons enjoy carrying the lantern to and from campsites on our camping trips and I can allow them to use this without the worry of them getting burnt by accidentally coming in contact with it.
