While owning a 37 ft. houseboat (barge) on Lake Waco, Texas, I experienced personally how difficult it is to get a soaking wet, 70 pound dog out of the water. So my husband, with his ever-creative mind, decided to make a ramp for Jake, our "Grand-dog". We started calling his invention “Doggy Dock” and now three years later have it patented and trademarked and are marketing the product nationwide.
Doggy Dock, originally a ridged dock weighing about 180 pounds and pretty cumbersome to store and get in and out of the water, is now a light weight (only 18 pounds), inflatable, floating ramp that helps dogs in and out of the water. Easy for them to see, they swim between the flotations tubes, feel the ramp under their feet and then it's as simple as walking up a gentle sloping bank. It may be attached to power boats, sailboats, pontoon boats, docks, hunting blinds, swimming pool edges, bulkheads, and anywhere it can float. People with imagination just keep coming up with different ideas on how to use it. Dogs love it!
We knew we wanted an American made product. After traveling a large portion of the United States, we settled on an experienced manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. Everyone who encounters our product is impressed with the quality of construction and materials and the safe ease of use by dogs.
Since Barry has a full time job, I am in
charge of our business. Immediately upon becoming more involved, I realized how many inquiries we had from women. They phoned, e-mailed and asked all sorts of questions and then they bought. I discovered I was having fun!
Women can’t easily pull a heavy, wet dog out of the water nor do they want to take the chance of injuring their pets. Doggy Dock offers a safe and fun way for their dog to exercise or just have a good time swimming. For complete details about the quality of materials and construction please visit our website: www.doggydock.net.
Across the country we have heard horror stories of dogs jumping off boats and drowning while the owners were away. Three dogs got in a pool while the owner was gone and swam until they were disoriented, couldn’t see the steps under the water and drowned. Compassionate hunters wanted a deck for their dogs to get out of the freezing water so they purchased our product. The list goes on and on.
As women, we spend our lives multi-tasking. Doggy Dock eliminates one task, as we don’t have to keep the dog from jumping in the water while we take care of the kid's life jackets and other needs. Just let the dog jump in and come back up their Doggy Dock.
Women are also open to new ideas that make our lives and the lives of the ones we love easier and more fun. Take a look at www.doggydock.net and have a giggle watching Jake perform.
