The Fish Grip

Chris Freeman

Sometimes you stumble across a piece of hunting or fishing eqiupment that simply becomes a "must have".

Such a tool for me is The Fish Grip made by the good folks over at Norton Brass Rattler Company. Whether you are fishing for toothy Northern Pike, or tackle busting Catfish, this tool not only allows you to more safely and easily land your catch, but also reduces injury to the fish.

I am sure you've all seen the heavy and expensive boga grips so popular with Peacock Bass fishermen, but weighing in at just 5 oz. and costing only $14.95, I feel these grips are superior and less cumbersome than any other grip I've tried. They feature a wrist lanyard to keep from slipping and if you happen drop them overboard by accident, they float! They work well at securing the fish and once locked on, solidly hold your catch. I find that I can land fish much faster using these grips, which amounts to less time messing around with hooks and teeth, and more time fishing!

The Fish Grip comes in a variety of colors (even pink!) and make a wonderful addition to any tackle box. I would not go fishing ever again without a pair of these. If you're in the market for some new goodies in your tacklebox this year (and who isn't?) take a look at this tool.

I bought mine at Cabelas, but you can also order them direct from Norton Brass Rattler
