I have my casting rods, my spinning rods
and fly rods galore.
My fly rods I keep in a standing rack while
others are standing behind my workshop door.
I have flies for this and flies for that. I even
have flies that will catch a yellow cat.
Some of my flies are big and some are quite
Small, but when my friends see them, they’re
usually appalled.
Why can’t we give our flies a simple name,
like Green Fly, or Blue Fly or Moth and Flame.
Purists shake their heads with a snort and
express their snobbishness by naming theirs
“The Beetle of Le Tort”.
